Benoit Havard
Benoît Havard has been painting cities since he was nineteen – and he has never painted them the way they are. Born in Orléans in 1981, trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Cherbourg, he works with oils and a palette knife to strip urban scenes down to what actually matters: light, contrast, and the energy underneath the surface.
New York, Paris, London, Venice – each city passes through his lens, then through his instinct, and comes out saturated, luminous, slightly out of reach.
No unnecessary detail. No postcard prettiness. Just the emotional truth of a street, a crowd, a moment caught between realism and abstraction.
His works have been exhibited in galleries across France and abroad since 2004 and sit in notable private collections. A Havard on your wall doesn’t show a city. It makes you feel like you were there.
